MISSION STATEMENT & HISTORY
ARK is a 501(c)(3) FEI#26-0856331 non-profit organization formed exclusively
for charitable and educational purposes. Donations are permitted as allowed by law.
The organization provides medical and adoption services
for injured, abandoned, and surrendered dogs, cats, and exotics.
ARK was established in 2007 by Maggi Hall who had just completed a 6 year 28 day award winning restoration project of five historic buildings for her daughter's veterinary hospital, FloridaWild Veterinary Hospital. Located in downtown DeLand, the hospital was a favorite "dumping site" for abandoned animals. Dr. Erin Holder, Maggi's daughter, asked for help: thus Animal Rescue Konsortium was born. ARK became the only No Kill Rescue Organization in Central Florida. During the 10 years Hall was president, no animal was EVER TURNED DOWN - NO MATTER THE CONDITION OF THAT ANIMAL. ARK and FloridaWild were able to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome over 6,000 animals during the decade Hall was president. In January 2018 Hall retired and Ginny Oakwood, owner of Crescent City Kennels in Crescent City Florida, took the helm. ARK then moved to its new location and continues its LIFE SAVING DEVOTION.
